What's on the ballot and key dates

On the ballot: U.S. Senate, U.S. House, and proposed constitutional amendments, plus local races in some areas.

  • Early voting and absentee ballot requests are now closed.
  • Mailed absentee ballots must reach your parish registrar of voters by Monday, November 2 at 4:30 p.m. A postmark does not count, so mail it early.
  • On election day, polls are open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you are in line when polls close, you can still vote.

Parishwide Proposition (Bonds) Summary: To authorize not exceeding $2,435,000 of not exceeding 10 year General Obligation Bonds of the Parish of Winn for the purpose of constructing a public library building, including acquiring furniture, fixtures and equipment therefor, title to which shall be in the public, said bonds to be payable from ad valorem taxes.

Shall the Parish of Winn, State of Louisiana (the "Parish"), incur debt and issue bonds to the amount of not exceeding Two Million Four Hundred Thirty-Five Thousand Dollars ($2,435,000), to run not exceeding ten (10) years from date thereof, with interest at a rate or rates not exceeding six per centum (6%) per annum, for the purpose of constructing a public library building, including acquiring furniture, fixtures and equipment therefor, title to which shall be in the public; which bonds will be general obligations of the Parish and will be payable from ad valorem taxes to be levied and collected in the manner provided by Article VI, Section 33 of the Constitution of the State of Louisiana of 1974 and statutory authority supplemental thereto, with an estimated four and seventy-five hundredths mills (4.75) to be levied in the first year of issue to pay said bonds?
